New TV spot for The Hunger Games

The Hunger Games has released a new TV spot ahead of the film's release at the end of the month. Some of the footage on display has been seen before, but there are enough new snippets in there to pique our interest. For example, we see a little more of an exchange between Katniss and her sister Primrose, in which the younger girl beseeches her sibling to, "just try to win."Then there's a scene with Lenny Kravitz's stylist Cinna, who encourages Katniss before the contest begins. "I'm not allowed to bet," he begins, "but if I could, I'd bet on you."Take a look at the new spot below... Exciting stuff, particularly that brief glimpse of a chase sequence in which Katniss is confronted by a massive burning branch. Much of the actual action has remained impressively under wraps, meaning despite the proliferation of trailers and teasers, there's still plenty to anticipate ahead of the film's great unveiling. The Hunger Games opens in the UK on 23 March 2012. We can hardly wait...

Jean Dujardin or Happy Joe Lucky: Who Has the Kid-Pleasingest Cigarettes?

This new Funny or Die bit featuring reigning Oscar king Jean Dujardin pushing a fictional brand of cigarettes in the suavest, most charming and youth-enticing way possible is pretty good ("And now in Cotton Candy and Snickers Bar!" I LOL'ed). Still, when it comes to animated/live-action smoke pushers, Dujardin and his partner in crime have pretty formidable competition in the infamous Happy Joe Lucky. Right down to the accordions! Who's got the kid-pleasingest cigarettes around? Dujardin's video calls for a rummage through the YouTube wilds, where we find the animated Lucky Strike mascot dueting with Your Hit Parade star Gisele MacKenzie. What an era! Smoke if you got 'em! Ralph was the exception to that rule. We were all fans of his amazing art long before we were blessed with his friendship. But once you got to know Ralph it was impossible not to become a fan of Ralph the manHis influence on design will be felt forever. There’s no doubt in our hearts that centuries from now amazing spaceships will soar, future cities will rise and someone somewhere will say, ‘that looks like something Ralph McQuarrie painted.’”
