Morning Grind: Who Will Play John McClane Jr. in 'Die Hard 5'?

Things are moving crisply on the 'Die Hard 5' front. This week the film got an official release date (Feb. 14, 2013) and official title (the hilariously bad 'A Good Day to Die Hard'), and now reports are circulating that it might also soon find an onscreen son for Bruce Willis. Variety states that screen tests are underway, with names like Ben Foster, Aaron Paul and Paul Dano on the short list of possibilities. The role of John McClane Jr. will likely be highly coveted on the chance that whoever gets cast could inherit the franchise from Willis in the future. According to Twentieth Century Fox, no actor has an inside track just yet. [Variety] Oscar Isaac, Carey Mulligan's ne'er-do-well husband in 'Drive,' has scored the lead role in 'Inside Llewyn Davis,' the latest film from the Coen brothers. 'Davis' focuses on the '60s folk scene in Greenwich Village. No studio is attached yet, but Scott Rudin will produce. Per Deadline, a cavalcade of Hollywood's best are hoping to score a part in the film. Good job, Oscar! [Deadline] Rade Sherbedgia has been cast as the villain in 'Taken 2,' meaning Liam Neeson will kill Rade Sherbedgia onscreen in 'Taken 2.' Good job, Rade? [THR/Heat Vision] For the first time in over 30 years, Woody Allen has changed an already-announced title. The Rome-set 'Bop Decameron' will now be known as 'Nero Fiddled.' "I couldn't believe how few people had heard of the Decameron, even in Rome," Allen said in a statement. "And the few that did assumed the movie was based on Boccaccio's tales, which it's not. Anyhow, I changed the title to 'Nero Fiddled,' which is the first time I've changed a title since my last minute switch of 'Anhedonia' to 'Annie Hall.'" 'Fiddled' stars Jesse Eisenberg, Alec Baldwin, Greta Gerwig, Ellen Page, Roberto Benigni, Penelope Cruz and Allen himself. [Variety] Guillermo del Toro's 'Pacific Rim' will hit theaters on May 10, 2013, two months earlier than expected. [Coming Soon] Director Joel Schumacher releases 'Trespass' this weekend, and hopefully it will have better luck than his last outing, 'Twelve.' That film earned just over $183,000 during its theatrical run, making it one of the biggest busts of 2010. Not that Schumacher has any hard feelings. "It's the number-one most pirated film in Shanghai in the month of May!" he told Movieline. "Friends of mine live over there; they have a list of not the top 10 movies but the top 10 pirated movies. 'Twelve' was number one for the month of May. Actually, it means millions of people have seen your movie, and the people who bought it got f-cked because they didn't make a dime."
